You will find that being a new patient at the King Dental Group is a pleasant and even surprising experience. Many tell us it is like nothing they have ever experienced at a dental office. We take the time to get to know you and your dental concerns on a personal level. Your first visit is for a complimentary consultation where you and one of the doctors will sit together and visit. One of the primary goals of this visit is for us to discover if we’d like to work together. At this visit, we’ll be able to determine if what you are looking for is what we do here, and vice versa, before any financial commitments are made. You will have an opportunity to share your own goals for your long-term dental health. This is especially a time when you are able to address any dental concerns that you have and to talk plainly about your dental history. This time is open-ended and you will never feel like you are being rushed out of the office to make room for the next patient. Our doctors will listen very attentively and thoughtfully, and will answer any questions you may have about our process.
If you are comfortable with the direction of this visit, you’ll no doubt want to schedule the next appointment — our thorough New Patient Exam. At this visit, we’ll gather a great deal of data about your supporting tissues (gums and bone), your teeth, and the entire chewing system (muscles of the head and neck, jaw joints, and overall function). We’ll recommend any X-rays we feel are necessary and will take photographs as well. At the end of this visit, we ask that you give us a few days to analyze all of the information and we pledge to present you a complete review of all our findings. Our purpose is NOT to find “things to do”, but to give you all the information necessary to make an informed decision as to how you’d like to be treated.
During the Review of Findings appointment, our 3rd visit together, you’ll receive a written review of findings and will have the opportunity to discuss it in depth with one of the doctors. Again, this is open-ended time so all your questions will be addressed. We will take the time to explain everything that was discovered and answer any and all questions you may have. At the end of this visit, you’ll be able to create a Master Plan designed to reach your own goals for your long-range. Certainly we are available to offer you assistance in that process, but remember, it is YOUR Master Plan, not ours. (Our secret desire is that you NEVER will hear “you need” or “you should” in this office, because we fully respect the fact that those are decisions you have to make, in concert with the facts about your current state of health.)
At the King Dental Group we have studied a great deal and worked hard to become master diagnosticians, but you will always have the final say on any dental treatment accomplished in your mouth. We will never schedule an appointment unless you are fully aware of what that appointment is for and how much it will cost.
We look forward to meeting you and visiting together about your goals for dental health.
